A: Creating a Christmas card of your church is a wonderful way to further involve the congregation in church life. Q: I do not have a Christmas photo, what do you suggest?

A: You can use any good color photo and combine it with the holiday borders we offer to enhance your picture. Some groups create a series of holiday cards.

Q: What kind of photo should I provide?

A: Any standard-sized, color photo of your church (up to 8 x 10 inches) can be converted into custom cards. The sharper the picture, the better. You can also send slides or negatives taken with standard-format films, such as 35 mm, 2 1/4-inch or 4 x 5-inch. We also accept high-resolution digital photos. If you decide to hire a professional photographer, Custom Studios will help coordinate arrangements and provide a $50 savings certificate toward professional services.

Q: What subject should I choose for my card?

A: An exterior view of your church at twilight or a photograph of a candle-lit interior makes an excellent subject. Also consider the choir, a close-up of the altar or a stained-glass window. If possible, walk around your church at different times of day to find the best lighting conditions for your potential subject.

Q: Can Custom Studios™ cards only be used for fund raising?

A: No. Many groups that do not engage in fund raising have provided cards at cost to their congregation members as a service.

Q: Can I "split" my Christmas card order?

A: We can save you money when you order two or more subjects for cards. Larger groups offer a variety of card subjects or divide their order between Christmas cards and all-occasion or note cards.

Q: Can you recommend a greeting for my card?

A: Yes. We offer several standard greetings that can be printed on the inside of your cards. If you prefer to create your own greeting, our staff will be glad to assist you.

Q: How do we pay for our cards?

A: If your group is short of funds you can begin taking orders at once. Raise funds before you place your order with us. Send your color photo or art and we will prepare a sample of the color photo in card size, send it to you with display posters and order forms. Your orders will begin to come in by following our easy promotional plan.
